Morgan Hodges’ Salon and Barbershop, on The Pantiles in Royal Tunbridge Wells, are perfectly placed to meet and satisfy all your hair and men’s grooming needs.

The Morgan Hodges story

Even though they didn’t know that 20 years later they’d be running their own salon together when Greg Morgan and Natasha Hodges first met in 1998 they did recognise a shared passion for their industry, an affinity for excellence.

Natasha was apprenticed to Toni & Guy in Royal Tunbridge Wells where Greg worked as Creative Director for six months. While Greg’s career took him to London and Norway, Natasha remained at the salon, qualified as a stylist and colourist, married and raised a family. When Greg decided to move back to the UK in 2013 he was drawn to his native Kent and a salon in the bustling elegant town he’d experienced so briefly.

It may have been coincidence or fate that Natasha was working at the same salon but this unexpected renewal of their friendship led them to sharing more ideas about their futures in hairdressing and within 18 months they knew they were committed to a partnership that would aim to provide the best in talent, professionalism and guest satisfaction. Morgan Hodges was born.

All the best stories have great endings. But great stories have great beginnings too.

Greg Morgan

During an exceptional career that spans almost 30 years, Greg has trained and worked with industry leaders Toni & Guy, John Frieda and Vidal Sassoon and held the position of Creative Director at the Aveda Advanced Academy, London. He has styled music videos, including the band The Darkness for Virgin Records, and photo shoots for iconic fashion photographers Tim Bret Day, Alasdair McLellan, Rankin and Ellen von Unwerth. His editorial work has been published in international issues of Elle, Italian Vogue and Vogue Japan, GQ, i.D., Tank, Oyster and the Telegraph Magazine. Previously to setting up Morgan Hodges with his business partner, Natasha, at the beginning of 2015, Greg was a celebrity hairdresser of note, with Victoria Beckham, Naomi Campbell, Marianne Faithfull, Lauren Hutton, Jade Jagger and Thandie Newton among his clients.

Natasha Hodges

Natasha’s impressive expertise as a precision cutter was originally nurtured by industry icons, Toni & Guy, over 20 years ago in their Royal Tunbridge Wells salon. She applies her perceptive and dynamic business acumen to the smooth running of the salon and to the development of the Morgan Hodges brand. Natasha is also a hair-up stylist extraordinaire, making her the go-to wedding hair artiste in the South East.

Guest reviews

At Morgan Hodges we care. We want to make people happy. And our guests’ reviews tell us we do!

Dare I say that Greg has been in my life on and off for a good many years, from the regular salon cuts and colour to personalised session work for me on various photo shoots. He is a great person to be around and oozes a creative energy which I always find a real tonic.
Never one to be complacent Greg has always strived to reach new goals and set new challenges and in an industry that moves at a fast pace, this is absolutely crucial.

His wealth of experience in the hair industry has given him all the tools to realise his dream and I couldn’t be more delighted that he found in Natasha the perfect partner who shared his vision. Together they are building a strong team who respect and admire everything they stand for making Morgan & Hodges THE place to go.

One thing is for certain – when you go for a haircut with Greg at Morgan Hodges, you will definitely leave the Salon looking and feeling a million times better than when you arrived.

Morgan Hodges Salon, in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, has a stylish interior. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff -dressed in chic black- are helpful and kind from the minute you arrive.

Now, let’s talk about Greg. He is the consummate professional and has worked in the business for 30 years. Greg has a certain je ne sais quoi – a sparkle in his eye and a swing in his step. He’s stylish, sophisticated and seriously cool. His energy immediately puts me at ease.

Greg is a collaborative hairdresser. His is, in my opinion, a Hair ARTIST. I generally arrive at the salon with an idea for my new style. Greg will take on board what I have said, and will make suggestions to fine tune the style in a way that he thinks will take it to the next level. His cuts for females are elegant and feminine but always have an edge that sets them apart from traditional styles.

I highly recommend a cut with Greg. You will not be disappointed!

You don’t realise how important a good atmosphere in a salon is until you come across one that makes you feel both relaxed and invigorated and just damn happy to be there having your haircut! Morgan Hodges does all that with distressed floorboards, exposed brickwork, the comfiest of armchairs, soft lighting and cool music, great coffee and snacks, and lovely, talented people who talk to you as if they really care. I’m a veteran salon visitor of over 40 years, and a demanding client too, and I cannot recommend them enough. Go. Enjoy. Have happy hair.

The Salons

Our New York loft inspired premises, Morgan Hodges Hair (incorporating Morgan Hodges Beauty) at 52 The Pantiles, officially opened in 2015 and has its Guest Entrance on Major Yorks Road. Formerly a contemporary art gallery, it left us with the legacy of a ceiling that leant towards industrial design concepts and that worked flawlessly with the retro mood we had in mind. The space expresses both history and modernity: exposed brickwork, vintage oak floorboards and bespoke mirrors, designed by ourselves and constructed by local craftsmen from reclaimed materials, perfectly complement our specific designer choices. We use Boby trolleys, by MOMA-celebrated designer Joe Colombo, to house all our stylists’ tools, and salon chairs that were the original inspiration of Michel Quennessen in 1973 and continue in popularity today for their design features and comfort.

We opened Morgan Hodges Man, our signature barbershop at 48 The Pantiles, in 2017. It’s a space where premium men’s grooming meets exclusive gentleman’s club and the shop interior was restored and designed with those ideals in mind: custom-made walnut carpentry, Takara Belmont chairs, and classic lighting.

Our location on The Pantiles, an eclectic and popular Georgian walkway of exclusive shops, galleries, cafés, bars and restaurants, could not be better. It is host to regular Farmers’ Market as well as annual food, music and fashion festivals and during the summer months the riffs and melodies of live jazz glide out from the historic bandstand on the Upper Walkway and through our doors and windows. Art. Music. Celebration. Morgan Hodges is enjoyably at home.

Welcome to our home, Lovely Guests.
